The uBox can help everyone. Even me.

Last week I was in a hit-and-run accident on my motorcycle.  I'm okay! Nothing broken and my legs are still attached, so all is right in the world.  I am taking pain medication though while I heal.

Even though I have been researching adherence for years, and knew the importance of taking my meds properly, I still found myself trying to stretch out the prescription, or denying that I was in enough pain to need it... I also forgot my meds at home when I really should have had them with me.  I realized that I needed something to help me take them like I was supposed to.  Good thing we had invented the uBox!

I've been using my uBox since then, and by staying ahead of the pain I'm helping my body to heal faster, which will be better for me in the long run. The text notifications also helped my fiancée to feel reassured that I was okay while he was at work.

... to present at the MidAmerica Healthcare Venture Forum in Minneapolis, MN tomorrow!

It is chilly here, but we just practiced over hot Tom Kha soup and ready for a good night's sleep. The day starts bright and early at 7am tomorrow. Will keep you posted on how it goes.

Tomorrow is the big pitch day... Well, I guess it's today already. The time sure does fly when you're practicing and polishing and getting everything in order!

One week.

One week until Innovation Day at the Seaport Hotel in Boston.

One week until we showcase our baby to the world and show them what a difference we will make in patients' lives and to the healthcare system.

One week until we leave it on the floor.

Until then, it's work work work!

Data, woooo

I've come to the StrataRx conference in San Francisco to present at their Digital Petting Zoo.

It's good to be home for the week, and to hear what the big thinkers are thinking about data in healthcare.  A recurring theme is actionable data to improve patient health.  We've got that.  Medication adherence is one of the big holes in the current data analysis system, so good thing we've made a tool that can produce that missing information!  The uBox will be vital to really making a difference in how healthcare is meted out in the future...

Time flies...

...when you're getting things done.

Can't believe it's October 1st already! We are over a third of the way through the program.

We've been having meetings upon meetings... We've also been working on the smartphone app and the website, and some of the engineering details, and we've hired two interns from Harvard to help with the research.  Our little family is growing!
